We for You | Daily Reflection | by Maryam ❤️
Salam Alaikum dear brothers and sisters, I hope you are all feeling well today.
A warm welcome to all new members who have recently joined.
Who is really influencing us today… and in what direction?
Not long ago, the focus on social media was mostly on women and their responsibilities. Now, it feels like it has shifted toward correcting men. But true balance is not shifting from one side to the other.
Because the truth is:
A healthy relationship cannot be built by fixing only one side.
From a psychological perspective, relationships are dynamic. Even when one person changes, the entire dynamic begins to shift - but lasting stability requires both to take responsibility.
Each married couple needs to grow together by developing essential skills and being honest about what they themselves are lacking:
1. *Active listening*- truly understanding, not just hearing
2. Emotional intelligence -managing emotions and responding with awareness
3. Clear communication expressing opinion and needs without blame or assumption
4. Conflict resolution -disagreeing with respect and working toward solutions
5. Accountability -owning mistakes without defensiveness
6. Empathy -understanding your spouse’s perspective
7. *Patience and regulation* — not reacting impulsively
8. *Boundaries and respect*- maintaining what is acceptable in behavior
9. Appreciation -valuing what is good, not only what is missing
So I encourage everyone to turn inward, reflect honestly on these essentials, and ask yourself :
*Where am I lacking, and what do I need to improve?*❓
But change happens through practice, not just awareness and it must be consistent. Knowing better is not the same as doing better.
Start with one skill this week and practice it intentionally. 📈
In Islam, what we do is deeply connected to why we do it. A sincere intention -to please Allah, to grow, and to preserve the relationship -brings barakah and shapes how we act with patience and mercy.
Men and women are described as allies of one another - supporting and growing together. Relationships are built on mercy, fairness, and shared responsibility.
If we want stronger families and a stronger ummah, both our conversations and our behavior must remain:
Balanced. Honest. Consistent..
And that can only happen if we are truly conscious and willing to grow.
After Ramadan is the right time to turn reflection into real change - not just think about it, but live it.
Wishing everyone willingness to reflect and grow with peace.
