We for You | Daily Reflection | by Maryam ❤️

Salam Alaikum dear Brothers and Sisters, I hope you all are doing well today.

A warm welcome to all our new members who have recently joined this group. 🤍 We’re truly glad to have you here.

A question many men notice is: “Why does she ask ‘Do you love me?’ so often, especially in moments when things already feel warm and close?”

From a psychological perspective, this is usually not about doubt or testing. In many cases, it reflects a natural emotional process. When a woman feels safe, connected, and emotionally open, for example during closeness, affection, or physical intimacy, her need for reassurance can actually increase, not decrease. This is linked to emotional bonding and attachment patterns.

*In such moments, hearing “I love you” helps to anchor and deepen that feeling of safety and connection.*❣️

It is also connected to differences in emotional expression. Many women experience love not only through actions, but strongly through verbal affirmation and emotional presence. So when she asks, “Do you love me?”, it often means:
“I feel close to you right now stay with me in this feeling.”

From an Islamic perspective, this need for verbal reassurance is also recognised and honoured. The Prophet pbuh showed us the importance of expressing love openly. When Aisha (رضي الله عنها) asked the Prophet pbuh about his love for her, he responded with warmth and reassurance, strengthening her sense of security and affection. This teaches us that expressing love verbally is not weakness, but mercy (rahmah) and emotional intelligence within a marriage.

So for husbands, instead of seeing this question as repetition or insecurity, it can be reframed as an invitation:

An invitation to nurture emotional closeness, to reassure, and to participate in a moment of connection.

And for wives, it is also helpful to recognise that your husband may express love differently, sometimes through actions more than words and learning each other’s emotional language strengthens the relationship further.

✨ Practical Task for Couples:

For the next 7 days, set aside 5–10 minutes each day during a calm or affectionate moment. One partner asks, “Do you love me?” and the other responds, but instead of a simple “yes,” they must give one specific, meaningful reason (e.g., “I love you because of how you care for our family,” or “I love the way you make me feel safe”). Then switch roles.

This exercise helps transform a repeated question into a deeper emotional connection ritual, strengthening both reassurance and understanding.

In essence, these small moments, a question, a reassurance, a loving response, are not trivial. They are part of how emotional bonds are built, maintained, and deepened over time.

And for our single brothers and sisters, this is a gentle reminder that healthy love is not only about finding the right person, but also about becoming emotionally aware and nurturing within yourself.

Learning how to express love, give reassurance, and understand emotional needs now will, by the will of Allah SWT, prepare you for a marriage filled with sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah in the future.

*May your relationships be filled with sakinah (tranquillity), mawaddah (love), and rahmah (mercy).*🤲🏻
