We for You | Daily Reflection | *by Maryam* ❤️
Assalamu Alaikum dear Sisters. 🌸How are you feeling today?
Every day I’m studying or reading something new from scientific research, and many of you know that I’m a lifelong student. Yesterday, I came across an interesting study that beautifully resonated with something I’ve been teaching women for a long time, so I wanted to share this reflection with you.
Many women grow up feeling embarrassed by menstruation or wishing this part of themselves didn’t exist. And yes, we all know it can be uncomfortable. But Allah created us with perfect wisdom. Our monthly cycle is not a flaw, it is a sign of the incredible way He designed the female body.
Recent research has found that cells from menstrual blood release tiny particles called extracellular vesicles that, in laboratory studies, helped cartilage cells repair themselves. While this is still early research and not yet a treatment for people, it is another reminder that Allah SWT places wisdom and benefit where we may least expect it.
As I was reading this study, I couldn’t help but remember these beautiful verses from the Qur’an:
“He perfected everything which He created.” (Qur’an 32:7)
“Indeed, We created man in the best form.” (Qur’an 95:4)
“We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the Truth.” (Qur’an 41:53)
Dear sisters, honor your body. Appreciate the way Allah created you. Menstruation is part of the natural fitrah of women and part of the beautiful way Allah created life.
Love all of yourself. ❤️Every part of you reflects Allah’s wisdom.
Perhaps the greatest lesson is not the research itself, but the reminder it gives us.
How often do we overlook the wisdom Allah has placed within us?
How often do we criticise or reject parts of ourselves without realizing the value Allah has already given us?
May this reflection encourage us to appreciate ourselves a little more, care for ourselves a little better, and never stop seeking beneficial knowledge that increases our gratitude to Allah SWT. Let us strive to grow in faith, character, and knowledge- not because we are lacking, but because every step of growth is a way of honoring the amanah Allah SWT has entrusted to us.
And may we teach our daughters and sons to honor the way Allah created women- to see menstruation not as something embarrassing or impure in itself, but as a natural part of His perfect design, deserving of respect, dignity, and gratitude.
May we learn to respect ourselves, so that others learn to respect us too.
May Allah SWT increase us in beneficial knowledge, gratitude, and appreciation for His perfect creation. Ameen.🤲🏻
