For those who are having bigger children than 7 years old or teenagers will post a bit more information, but in general same steps you can do. Just usually big kids will push you away more and close in they bedroom. So you need to offer hugs🤗, name what you saw or emotions but give them space and reassure that you are near, in the next room, kitchen and they can call you or come to you anytime. Btw don’t leave them for a long time. Remember, emotions lasting about 90 s, feelings longer. But feel your children and come to them, give them water to drink or juice😊 ask does child wants anything… hug… Everything depends on situation and child, there is no one rule what exact words what to say after that, or how to behave. The most important be here and now for a child and ready to listen.
But no morals, rather it should be friendly talking. Again, you knowing your kids better, but I personally don’t want till now that my mom would give me morals if I was emotional. So think what you would like when you are emotional?
