I received private question which I paraphrased and sister allowed to share with you all.
What if I did not make a mistake, but my husband says it’s my fault? I’m not feeling it’s my fault. Should I apologise?

***************************

First, you need to feel yourself, recognise emotions and body feelings. Pause when you hear accusations.
It can be hard to do this because many of us learned to immediately defend ourselves or go silent, or accept it . But with awareness, we can train ourselves to pause and reflect calmly.
Ask yourself:
Did I truly do something wrong?
Or am I feeling guilty simply because he is upset?
That pause is the most powerful and it helps you respond with clarity instead of reacting from emotions.
When we create space between accusation and reaction, we protect both our dignity and our peace. 🌸
If you truly did not make a mistake, you should not apologise just to keep peace. An apology should come from sincerity and responsibility and not from someone’s pressure.
Many of us learned from childhood to say “sorry” quickly. Sometimes a parent tells a child, “Say sorry to your sister/ brother/ friend ,” even when the child does not really understand or feel it. The word is said, but the heart is not involved. That is not true accountability, it is just a habit.
In psychology, a real apology requires awareness, honesty, and emotional maturity. Saying sorry only to avoid conflict can slowly create resentment and loss of self-respect. And in Islam, justice and sincerity are essential. Allah SWT is The Most Just, and every soul is responsible only for its own actions. You are not required to carry someone else’s mistake. *At the same time, Islam encourages humility, patience, and gentle communication in marriage.*❣️
If you made a mistake, admit it sincerely, that is strength.
If you did not, you can say something similar respectfully:
“I am willing to reflect if I did something wrong. But I don’t believe this is my fault. Let’s speak peacefully.” But if you are feeling you need space just tell you need space, and you’ll comeback to it a bit later.
Humility is part of faith. But accepting blame for something you did not do is not required.
You can speak from calmness and still stand in your truth.
And remember each person is responsible for their own actions and their intentions.
Maybe other sisters can add something from their own perspective, InshaAllah.
Jazakalah khair for question. Wishing you peace.🤍
