Salam Alaikum, sister. Selenium is an essential trace mineral, and pregnant women do need it, but only in small, safe amounts. Usually it’s included in prenatal vitamins about 55–70 µg. But in general pregnant women shouldn’t take extra selenium unless a doctor prescribes it after a blood test. Balanced nutrition and proper monitoring are the safest way to ensure both mother and baby’s health.
