We for You | Daily Reflection | *by Maryam* ❤️
Salam Alaikum dear sisters,
I hope you are all doing well, InshaAllah.🌸
🎨 Let’s Try a Little Mind Activity Today
For today’s task, you’ll need a simple black pen and some colour pencils. 🖊️🎨
Pick *any plant in your house*-and if you don’t have live plants, choose an item with more details, like a shoe or another household object. 🌱
Look at it carefully for 2 full minutes, paying attention to its colour, shape, and all the little details, even the shades and shadows around it.
Invite your children and husband to join you. 💕
All of you look at the object quietly for two minutes. Then, close your eyes and, without peeking, draw its silhouette-just the outline, as best as you can.
Once everyone has finished, open your eyes, hide the object and colour in your drawings. 🎨
When you’re done, compare your drawing to the real thing. Some of us will remember the picture clearly in our minds, while others may just remember the idea -like “it was blue with a handle.” Both are perfectly okay. It simply shows that Allah SWT made each of our minds unique -some think in pictures, others in words or feelings.
It’s a gentle way to see how you remember and imagine. 💫
But this drawing-from-memory task doesn’t just explore how your mind visualises, it also gently trains attention and observation skills. When you focus on the object for two minutes, your attention strengthens and your mind calms. It builds mindfulness, helps you remember better, and encourages patience and stillness - beautiful qualities for both children and adults.
As you observe a plant, notice how each leaf, stem, and shade of green is perfectly designed. This helps you slow down, connect with nature, and reflect on the beauty and balance in Allah’s creation. Just as every plant grows at its own pace, we too grow best when we move gently, patiently, and in harmony with our natural rhythm. 🌸
My own plant drawing -which you can see in the picture above -is a small reminder that this task is not about perfection, but about presence.
Each line you draw from memory is a moment of calm and focus, and that’s where the beauty truly lies. 🌿
Take a moment to thank Allah SWT for the unique way He designed your mind to capture it and eyes to see it. Every brain is a world of its own-each one special, purposeful, and perfectly made. What matters most is how we use it to do good, to learn, and to understand one another with kindness.
🤲 Dua:
Allahumma, grant us understanding, patience, and appreciation for the beauty of Your creation within every mind and heart. Ameen.
So yes, it’s more than activity, it’s a mindful attention exercise, helping you slow down, focus, and truly see people and the world around you. 🌸
Wishing everyone to enjoy this activity with your families and take a moment to slow down, smile, and connect. 🌸
