We for You | Daily Reflection | by Maryam ❤️

Salam Alaikum dear Sisters🌸, I hope you all are feeling better and better InshaAllah.

Many of us tried to become better during Ramadan, to fix our habits, be more consistent, more disciplined, more “perfect.” But after Ramadan, most people find that they can’t maintain everything they started. And that’s not failure.

The truth is, a habit is not something you can just remove and replace overnight. It’s not like changing clothes. Habits are built into your daily routine, your thinking patterns, and even your identity. Psychology shows that habits are formed through repetition -the brain literally creates pathways based on what you do consistently. That means real change doesn’t come from pressure or intensity, but from small actions repeated over time.

And this aligns beautifully with Islam. The Prophet pbuh said:
“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 6464, Sahih Muslim 783)
This is not only spiritual guidance -it’s also how the human brain works.

The problem is that many people fall into extremes. They push themselves very hard for a short period, trying to change everything at once. But when that intensity becomes unsustainable, they burn out and stop completely. Islam, however, is not a religion of extremes, it is a religion of balance. Allah SWT describes the believers as a balanced nation.
So real growth doesn’t come from forcing yourself into a completely new version overnight. It comes from gradually reshaping your habits. Even a small change, if repeated consistently, becomes part of who you are.

A powerful insight from psychology is that our brain doesn’t care about perfection - it cares about repetition. What you repeat, you become.

So if after Ramadan you kept even one good habit -praying a bit more, being a bit more patient, remembering Allah SWT more often, that already matters. That is already change.

Don’t dismiss small progress just because it doesn’t look dramatic. Sustainable change is quiet. It’s steady. And it’s built on sincerity and balance.

I’m encouraging you all to prepare for next Ramadan now by starting small, staying consistent, and being gentle with yourselves, real transformation begins long before Ramadan arrives.

1. Set the intention to be grateful for what you already have.
2. *Don’t clutter your home, and don’t clutter your mind.*

3. *Choose more awareness, more presence, and more conscious living.*

Simplify your life so your heart has space. Let go of what drains you, and hold on to what brings you closer to Allah SWT. Even small daily acts, a short du’a, a moment of reflection, a kind word to yourself and others - they all shape your heart. Because the way you live today is what shapes who you will be when Ramadan comes again.

And the one who arrives prepared, arrives differently.

Wishing everyone wisdom and peace. ❤️
