Previously, I’ve received some skepticism from Muslim sisters —
“Yes, nature is beautiful, but it’s not possible when you live in a flat or in the middle of a busy town.”
And I understand that. Many of us live in high-rise homes or areas far from forests or open fields.
But even so — we can still connect with nature and ground ourselves:
For sisters living in flats or towns:
• Sit by an open window or balcony with fresh air and sunlight
• Place your feet on soil in a tray, or gently touch a houseplant. Plant house plants. Look after them.
• Visit a nearby park or tree, even for a short, intentional walk
• Look at the moon through your opened window, and sit quietly with intention.
• Surround yourself with small natural touches — houseplants, dried lavender, fresh herbs, flowers, or essential oils like cedar, rose, or pine
• Even a small fish tank can bring calm — the gentle movement of water and fish brings peace to both children and adults
Even in a busy place, these small, consistent touches of nature can soothe your heart, quiet your mind, and reconnect you with the calmness Allah SWT created within and around us.
So everything is possible. JUST DO IT!
