Salam Alaikum sisters. How are you feeling today? 🌸

Today a R.E.M.I.N.D.E.R.

Are you tired of constantly telling your kids what to do? "Put your shoes away" or "clean your room"? As I mentioned earlier, it can be hard for them to know where to start cleaning, and it often helps to break it down step by step. Even with younger kids, tasks should be simplified and done together. Instead of giving constant instructions and reprimands, try asking interesting questions like, "What do you think happens to your lungs when you breathe in dust from your room?" or "If shoes and backpacks are left around the room, do you think Dad might trip over them when he comes home?" This can help kids think more about the consequences.

However, this might not always work with teenagers. If you hear "I don’t care" or similar responses, it doesn't necessarily mean they don’t care; it might just mean they don’t want or can’t clean up at that moment.

Introduce one rule in the house: "If you take something, use it, and then put it back in its place." This will lead to fewer arguments and less frustration. Just make sure to follow this rule yourself, as consistency from all adults in the house will help reinforce it.

And one more thing - less is more. Declutter your house!
