Salam Alaikum dear brothers and sisters,
I hope this message finds you well, grounded, and seeking growth.

TODAY ABOUT “To Punish, or to Show Mercy?”

A sister once came to me and said,
“I want to raise my children without punishment.”
But her husband believes,
“Children must be punished to learn.”

So now I’m asking *all of you*—every parent, every caregiver, every soul raising the next generation:
Where would you place the comma in this sentence?

“Punish not, spare”
or
“Punish, not spare.”

That single pause changes everything. Just like a single moment of reflection can change a child’s life.

Before you punish your child—stop. Pause. Breathe.
Ask yourself:
What am I afraid of?
Why am I reacting this way?
Am I trying to teach—or to control?

Because setting boundaries is not the same as punishment.
Boundaries protect. Punishment can wound.
And sometimes, the greatest lesson a child learns is not from consequences—but from how you handle their mistakes.

It’s a simple truth. One we all know—but few truly practice.

Some say, “If I hadn’t been beaten, I’d have turned out bad.”
But is that wisdom—or unresolved pain?

Are children born bad? Or are they simply souls in need of guidance, connection, and compassion?

So I ask again:
Will you be a teacher—or a judge?
A healer—or a hurter?

Your child becomes who you are, not what you say.
So grow. Reflect. Heal. Be someone they want to follow.

You have the power to break cycles and build legacies.
Raise your children with presence, with love, and with strength rooted in mercy.

May Allah guide us all to raise balanced, confident, and emotionally safe children.

*Salam Alaikum—peace, light, wisdom and clarity to every heart reading this.*❤️
