We for You | Daily Reflection | *by Maryam* ❤️

Assalamu Alaikum dear Sisters,🌸 I hope you and your families are all doing well, InshaAllah.

Today I came across a post that deeply touched my heart. It reminded me how careless words can leave wounds that remain with a person for years, sometimes even for a lifetime.

As parents, spouses, siblings, and friends, let’s be mindful of the words we choose.

One beautiful principle we can teach our children is this:

If a person cannot change something about themselves within a 5 seconds, don’t comment on it.

For example:

* their height,
* body shape,
* skin,
* hair,
* facial features,
* disabilities,
* or anything Allah SWT has created them with.

Instead, teach them to notice kindness, good character, generosity, honesty, and beautiful manners.

As Muslims, our guidance is even greater than any family rule.

The Prophet pbuh said:

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Allah also reminds us:

“O you who believe! Let not one group ridicule another group… and do not insult one another or call each other by offensive nicknames.”
(Qur’an 49:11)

Children learn far more from what they see than from what they are told. If they hear us criticising other people’s appearance, they will think this is normal. If they hear us speaking with kindness, mercy, and respect, they will carry those values into adulthood.

May Allah SWT make our homes places where every family member feels safe, loved, accepted, and honoured. May He purify our tongues, soften our hearts, and help us raise children who use their words to heal rather than to hurt.

Ameen. 🤲🏻
