We for You | Daily Reflection | *by Maryam* ❤️

Salam Alaikum dear Sisters, 🌸
I hope you are all feeling well and that your fasting is going smoothly. May Allah SWT accept everyone’s fasts, prayers, and good intentions, and may He grant us all the full benefits and blessings of this month.

Warm welcome to our new sisters who recently joined our group. ❤️

Today is Thursday 🤍 a beautiful day to be mindful of our bodies and our intentions.
I wanted to share something important about NAUSEA during Ramadan, as many sisters experience it but don’t always talk about it. It can feel confusing and frustrating, especially when medical tests are normal and everything appears “fine,” yet the discomfort remains.

If you feel persistent nausea during fasting, even when medical tests are normal, it can sometimes be related to blood sugar dropping too low during long fasting hours, stress hormones affecting digestion, slower digestion or bile flow, or skipping Suhoor and eating too little protein. Long gaps without food can make the body more sensitive, especially if you are already tired or stressed.

What may help during Ramadan:

🌙 Do not skip Suhoor. Even something small with protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs (like eggs, yogurt, oats, nuts, whole grain bread) can stabilize blood sugar longer and help you feel steadier throughout the day.

🌙 Break your fast gently. Dates and warm water are fine. But then start with warm soup or broth, and avoid very heavy or fried foods. Warm meals help digestion and are usually easier on the stomach after many hours of fasting.

🌙 Hydrate wisely after Iftar. Sip warm water or herbal teas like chamomile between Iftar and Suhoor, rather than drinking large amounts at once. Gentle hydration supports the body better.

🌙 Listen to your body. If nausea comes with dizziness, shaking, sweating, or weakness, it could be low blood sugar. Your health is an amanah (trust). If symptoms are strong, it is permissible to break your fast and make it up later. Islam is ease, not hardship, and Allah SWT does not want harm for you.

Please remember - ongoing severe nausea, repeated vomiting, strong pain, fainting, or unexplained symptoms should always be discussed with a healthcare professional. And if there is any possibility of pregnancy, that should also be considered.

May Allah SWT grant you strength, ease, and shifa (healing). May He place barakah in your health, your fasting, and your intentions. May your fast be light on your body and heavy on your scale of good deeds. 🤲🏻❤️
