We for You | Daily Reflection | by Abu Hamdan

_Allah says in a Hadith Qudsi:_

“Fasting is for Me, and I will reward it.”

SubhanAllah.

For every action, the reward is mentioned.

Ten times.
Seven hundred times.
Multiples.

But for fasting .. Allah says, “It is for Me… and I will reward it.”

When a king says, “This is for me,” it carries weight.

And when a king rewards .. he rewards from his level.

Think about this.

If we are invited to present something to a worldly king…
we prepare months in advance.

We choose what to wear.
How to speak.
How to present ourselves.

If it’s a job interview, we prepare.
If it’s a business tender, we prepare.
If it’s an important meeting, we prepare carefully.

But when Allah says, “Fasting is for Me”…

How did we prepare?

How are we presenting this fast?

Is it just hunger?

Or is it something worthy of being presented to Allah?

The first thing is intention.

Are we fasting because everyone else is fasting?
Because it’s cultural?
Because the routine changes?
Because the food is nice at Iftar?

Or are we fasting purely for Allah?

That difference changes everything.

And fasting is not just the stomach.

_Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah رضي الله عنه said that when you fast, let your hearing fast, let your sight fast, let your tongue fast._

That means:

Your tongue fasts from lying.
From sarcasm.
From backbiting.

Your eyes fast from what is haram.

Your ears fast from gossip and nonsense.

Your limbs fast from wrong actions.

That is the fast you present to Allah.

Not just an empty stomach .. but a disciplined body and a sincere heart.

If fasting is for the King of kings…then let us offer something worthy.

_May Allah accept our fasting in a way that is pleasing to Him._ Ameen
